I've read and re-read this, and enjoyed it beat for beat, as the mystery promised is presented. I can almost see the camera pull back and magically transit through parts of it, to an exterior shot of the hinted at vessel, in deep space, and then title credits, overlaid over the scene, glow into the frame... "Aubade". (But that's just one scenario, who knows what the character, Sara, has awakened in the middle of? The wonderful introduction could lead to all kinds of stories, most exciting.)
There is a nice retrofuturistic feel to it . Would be great to know where the story takes the reader next.
