Getting Back is Harder

It's a light and positive feeling in this room.  Only when we try to leave do we realize we're trapped.  Even though there are no visible borders or walls set up, we know that any movement outside the set perimeters will be detected.  I am not sure of what the results would be if we got caught outside our area, but it is definitely something we want to avoid.

We decide to take a chance and leave the area and get a seed sample so we can find out more about who is keeping us here and why.  Together with a friend I leave the area and walk through a hallway.

The instant I enter the outside the entire perception of my existence changes to a much darker and faded tone.  There is tension and negativity here.  They must know we're outside, and we need to hurry if we want to try to escape being caught.  We hurry down the hallway toward the greenhouse.

The large bean plant is ripe.  My friend takes a scalpel and neatly cuts a long slit in the large and bright green bean pod.  The beans are exposed and we take one.  The bean is the size of an adult's palm.  Then we hurry back along another hallway that runs parallel to the one we came through.  They are behind us but not visible.

I know this last step will be difficult.  I can sense the struggle and I begin to prepare myself mentally.  Getting back into our original room is like fighting a magnetic field.  We must get through fast.

I throw myself on the floor and begin to willpower myself toward the border between the familiar and foreign.  I expect my feet to be caught by them any second now.  The bean is in the front pocket of my jacket and I hope I haven't entirely destroyed it.  

It is such an intense physical task to take my body back.  It's not exactly painful.  I can only think of myself and I feel a snap as things separate from my body with each movement forward.  For the first time, just as I regain perspective, I understand why there are perimeters to begin with.
